Brake Balance Bars, Bias Adjusters, and Proportioning Valves
Being able to tune the front-to-rear braking effort is vital when you are trying to maximize your braking in competition.
Most purpose-built racecars use two master cylinders (one for the front brakes and one for the rear) connected by an adjustable bias bar (also known as a balance bar). Adding a remote adjuster cable gives the driver the ability to adjust brake balance during the race.
If the rules do not allow dual master cylinders with a balance bar, a proportioning valve is the next best thing.
