Face Shields & Visors for Bell Helmets, SA2005 Only

The old Kam-Lok ratcheting shield pivot (above left) was
used on all Bell full-face auto racing helmets from 1980
until 2005.

If your shield goes "click-click-click" when you raise it,
your helmet has a Kam-Lok shield on it.

Note: Kam-Lok shields are no longer made.

The SRV Friction-Lock pivot system (above right) was introduced
as a rolling change in 2005-06 beginning with the SA2005 Dominator, Vortex, M3 / M3 Xtra, GTX, M4, M4 Pro, and BR-1 helmets.

The SRV shield has a smooth curved slot in front of the pivot.
If your shield won't stay when you raise it halfway up, your helmet probably has an SRV shield on it.
