Performance Friction Brake Pads for Formula Ford 1600, F2000
Performance Friction makes brake pads for some of the more popular calipers used on Formula Ford FF1600 and F2000 cars.
The Girling 14LF caliper (PF044 shape) is not very common. This caliper was used on some late-70s Formula Fords (1600 and 2000) and Sports 2000. Tiga used this caliper on nearly all of their cars.
The Lockheed LD19 caliper (PF719) was the most popular FF1600 caliper from the late 1960s through the 1990s. Most of the high-volume British chassis builders (Lola, Titan, Crossle, Van Diemen) used this caliper.
The larger Lockheed LD20 caliper (PF720) was initially reserved for larger cars like FF2000 and S2000. In the late 80s and early 90s, when most FF1600 actually started life as F2000 cars, this caliper started showing up on FF1600s.
The PFC ZR55 caliper (PF7832) was specifically designed for 2010 and later FF2000 cars from Van Diemen and Citation.
Note that unlike road cars, there is no application chart for formula car brake pads. Some manufacturers changed calipers from time to time, and many older racecars have been converted to take a different caliper. You must compare your pad shape to the tracings shown here (click any image to see a larger version).
