If your fuel cell was originally equipped with an aircraft-type fill cap, this kit lets you convert it to an easy-to-use screw-on cap. This is also great for fabricating any kind of tank from scratch.
This aluminum filler cap assembly is designed to bolt on to any rigid tank with a 4 x 2" bolt pattern (Fuel Safe fuel cells do not use this size). Both the cap and the bung are CNC machined from billet aluminum. The low-profile (9/16" high x 2 7/16" OD) bung and the cap are both clear anodized with a silver finish. The 2" diameter cap features six large finger-grip notches for easy handling, even with gloves on (1 5/8" is the diameter at the inside of the notches). The female 1 1/4 - 12 coarse threads in the neck allow the cap to unscrew quickly with little chance of cross-threading (cap has male threads; bung has female threads). An O-ring seal prevents leaks while helping to keep the cap tight. Total assembled height approximately 3/4". Includes base O-ring seal, mounting screws, and lock nuts (nut rings for flexible fuel bladders are not available).
Note: Does not fit any Fuel Safe fuel cells that we carry. Fuel Safe fillers normally have a larger 12 x 4 3/4" bolt circle. Not designed for use as a remote filler.
