The 996BA/V Series safety valve wrenches from Beta Tools are designed specifically to give you extra leverage to turn a valve wheel handle. This can save critical seconds when trying to stem a leak or contamination. The copper-beryllium (Cu-Be) construction is non-sparking, making it ideal for use in environments with combustible gasses* in the atmosphere.
This 996BA/V60 model measures 370mm long (L) with a 36mm jaw opening (L1) to work on valve handles measuring 125mm to 250mm diameter (Ø). Weighs 730g. (14 9/16" L, 1 13/32" L1, 5" - 10" Ø, 1 lb 10 oz.) This is the smaller of the two 996BA/V Series wrenches. Natural brass color with a Beta Orange insulated handle. Sold individually.
Note: The Cu-Be material is softer than steel, so care must be taken to apply force gradually. Never pound on the handle or add a "cheater" pipe to increase leverage! Doing so will damage the tool and void the lifetime warranty.
* Not for use in or around acetylene! Acetylene gas can react with the copper in this tool to form acetylide, a powerful explosive.
