Ford "Modular" V8 engines feature cross-bolted main caps for improved bottom-end rigidity. ARP Pro Series side bolts are manufactured from 8740 chrome moly steel, heat-treated to 200,000 psi tensile strength with J-form threads that are rolled (not cut) after heat treatment (not before) for unmatched strength and precision.

This kit includes ten M8 bolts with 12-point heads and special washers to fit early-production aluminum 4.6L and 5.4L blocks. Note that later blocks used M9 bolts.
