The Weber IDF dual-throat downdraft carburetor is an excellent choice for many racing applications ranging from small Italian sports cars to modified VW-based engines. A single 40IDF is a great choice for a mildly built 1500-2000cc engine. Twin 40IDFs can feed 1500-2200cc engines. Lamborghini used 4 of the 40IDFs on the 2.5L V8 Urraco in the 1960s.

Note: The 40 IDF is supplied without velocity stacks or choke mechanism. Eliminating the choke makes it better able to handle dusty environments, but cold driveability suffers. It is recommended for racing or warm-weather "pleasure motoring" only.
