This lightweight aluminum expansion / fill tank from Canton has a 3/8 inch NPT female inlet port on the side, a 1/2 inch NPT female outlet port on the bottom, and a 5/16" barbed overflow vent fitting in the neck. The tank has built-in side mounting brackets and accepts a standard SAE Size A radiator cap (not included).
An expansion tank is recommended for racing applications where the top of the radiator is mounted lower than the top of the engine. Mounting the tank higher than the engine insures a complete fill and provides an air space for expansion. This tank is strong enough for a pressurized cap up to 30 psi.
