If your fuel-injected car stumbles under heavy g-loads due to fuel starvation from fuel sloshing away from the pickup, you can fix it by adding a surge tank or swirl pot. The obp Motorsport FST series of fuel surge tanks are easy to install in any fuel system, without requiring any modification to your fuel tank or cell.
This FST fuel pump cluster is designed to fit inside a special tank (sold separately, several different versions available). This submerges the high-pressure pumps inside a tall, narrow column of fuel. When fuel sloshes away from your fuel pickup, the FST pump will continue to feed your high-pressure pump from its reservoir. You can even use your stock in-tank pump to feed the FST!
This cluster consists of two obp Pro-Velocity Regenerative Turbine 340 LPH fuel pumps mounted, plumbed, and wired to a special top plate. The plate has a 10 x 4" bolt circle that is designed to fit tanks from obp, Fuelab, Protec, and the Aeromotive "Stealth" series.* Five -6 size (9/16-18) female O-ring boss ports let you connect lines for inlet, 2 outlets, and return to tank. Positive and negative electrical terminals are all #8 SAE size studs to accept standard ring terminals (sold separately). Each pump draws 13.2 amps and delivers 340 liters of fuel per hour at 5 bar pressure (90 gallons per hour at 72 psi). Each pump has its own wiring connections, so they can be run together or independently. Includes sock filters and ten #10-24 SAE size cluster mounting screws. Weighs 1180g (2.6 lb).
* Requires a tank with an internal height of 185mm or 240mm from the cluster mounting flange to the bottom of the tank. Note that some tanks may be too short to accept this cluster. The cluster displaces approximately 0.3 liter (0.08 gallon, or about 10 ounces) of fuel.
