This is one of the nicest racing mirrors we have seen. From the machined billet aluminum base, to the stainless steel hardware, to the carefully-crafted aerodynamic shape, the quality and attention to detail are obvious.
Dash-mount mirrors such as this one are designed for mounting in the center of the dash on open sports cars and 2-seat sports racers. The glass is larger than on most side-mount mirrors, so these have become very popular as fender mirrors on single-seat sports racers where rearward visibility is a challenge.
One ball joint at the mounting flange and another in the center of the housing give this mirror a very wide range of adjustment. Both ball joints have set screws which must be tightened after the mirror is adjusted. A plug in the top of the housing is removable for access to the top screw. You must drill a hole in your panel to allow access to the screw in the base joint. The mirror glass is fixed in the housing.
The flat lens measures approximately 4 7/16" wide x 1 3/4" high. The round-section aluminum stem measures 3 1/4" long including ball joints (total assembled height 7 1/4"). The base and stem are anodized black aluminum. The mirror housing is paintable black nylon.
