Thermlock® two-piece caliper pistons were designed for NASCAR short track racing and endurance road racing to reduce heat transfer from the brake pads to the fluid in Wilwood calipers. Thermal transfer is reduced by as much as 25% compared to standard stainless steel pistons.
The innovative design consists of a coated aluminum piston shell with a separate stainless steel shield. The aluminum shell rides in the caliper bore and touches the fluid, while the stainless shield touches the pad. They are fully compatible with standard Wilwood calipers and seals, so no changes need to be made when upgrading. Just replace your old pistons during a regular rebuild and enjoy longer seal life!
This 1.38" OD x 0.88" Long piston fits Wilwood TC6R, Dynalite, and DynaPro calipers (including DLS / DPS Singles for .38" discs) equipped with 1.38" pistons. Sold individually.
