Thread Detective® to the rescue!
The Thread Detective is a collection of special threaded steel fittings, each with a different SAE (inch) or metric (mm) thread size. Each fitting has both male and female threads so you can identify nuts, bolts, studs, even plumbing fittings. Each fitting has its thread size permanently printed in bold numbers for easy reference.
This set includes four Thread Detective kits to identify just about any fastener, from #1 to 1" and from M1.2 to M24.
The Standard kit includes the most common hardware sizes found on formula cars and sports racers, as well as in brake system plumbing.
The Jumbo kit covers larger hardware sizes typically found on production sedans. Several of the sizes also match AN plumbing fittings in oil and fuel systems.
The Mini kit includes just the smallest micro screw sizes found in assemblies such as computers and other electronics.
