The Tilton Super Starter is the closest thing to bullet-proof that you can get. This gear reduction starter features a 3 hp motor to deliver greater torque and higher cranking speeds than stock, all while drawing less current! Super Starters are capable of cranking over racing engines up to 600 CID or up to 18:1 compression. Try that with an OEM starter! Each unit is factory-sealed and dyno tested by Tilton to ensure quality. Weighs approximately 12 pounds.
This version replaces the OEM starter on Buick V6 engines with 160 tooth ring gears; Chevy V8 (small block and big block), 90-degree V6, and inline-6 engines with either 153 or 168 tooth ring gears (does not fit LS-series). The mounting plate offers 3 different options for "clocking" the starter assembly to clear headers or other obstructions. Passenger-side mount, standard rotation.
