The Tilton OT-III Dual Disc Clutch is a very high-quality 5 1/2" diameter racing clutch. The aluminum cover is much lighter and stiffer than the stamped steel cover used on many competitors' racing clutches. A 5 1/2" clutch significantly reduces rotational inertia over a 7 1/4" clutch, improving acceleration and reducing crankshaft stress during gearchanges. Disc wear is more rapid than with a 7 1/4" clutch however, so you should be prepared to replace discs more frequently.
This assembly includes the cover and pressure plate. Clutch disc and bolts are sold separately. "Step Type"clutch requires specially modified flywheel.
The Orange spring is a medium-strength spring, recommended for cars producing up to 200 lb-ft of torque.
Racing clutches in general require high pedal force to actuate. External slave cylinder release mechanisms may not work with this clutch. Using the recommended 38mm diameter release bearing, the Orange spring requires 510 pounds of force to release. We recommend pairing the Orange spring with a Hydraulic Release Bearing with a 38mm release bearing for best results.
