This is the standard front crankshaft seal for the Ford 1600 Kent engine. It will work with either the stock pulley or our toothed belt pulley, with early or late style front covers. Color may vary from photo. Sold individually.
This "narrow" style lip seal (replaces Ford part number 83BM-6700-A4A) was designed to fit the Uprated front cover, which has a retaining flange behind the seal. It will also fit early (Cortina) front covers which have a smooth bore for the seal. OD is 2.066", ID is 1.438" and width is .315". Apply a dab of grease around the inside of the lip before installing your pulley. This is critical to avoid burning or tearing the seal rubber on start-up.
How do I know which front cover I have?
Look at your front cover and locate the boss next to the timing marks. On the late-style 731M-6059-AA front cover, this boss was normally left undrilled. The earlier 681F-6059-A-A cover will have a dipstick tube (or a plug) in the hole drilled through this boss. But this seal will fit both style covers, so there's no need to worry!
