Remote-mount Canton oil filters are easily disassembled to inspect for signs of engine damage. The strong billet aluminum housing can stand up to more pressure than any racing oiling system will normally see. The 8 micron synthetic filter element (included) uses a deep filtering media for excellent flow with almost no possibility of clogging. Tests show that one of these filters with 30,000 miles on it still out-flowed a brand-new, full-size Fram HP-1 racing oil filter (which is an excellent filter in its own right).
The strong billet housing measures 7" long x 3.25" diameter. The inlet (end) and outlet (side) ports are both threaded 1 1/16" x 12 with an O-ring chamfer (-12 ORB) to accept our -12 O-Ring Port to Male AN Adapters, Part No. 1280-Size (sold separately).
We also offer 4.62" (Long) 8 Micron Replacement Filter Elements, Part No. 1292. One element is included with this assembly.
This filter does not include a mounting clamp. Canton recommends the Canton Remote Round Filter Mounting Clamp, Part No. 1285-Round (sold separately).
This design has a new 5-bolt end cap and replaces the old 4-bolt filters Part No. 1281 (Canton 25-106) and 1281-002 (Canton 25-106B).
