This circular rain light from Cartek is homologated to the latest FIA 8874-2019 standard. It features 15 high-intensity red LEDs in a tough but lightweight plastic housing. The compact size (3 3/16" diameter) makes it easy to mount anywhere. The dual-function light can be wired to flash at 4 Hz or to burn steady. Add a DPDT switch (sold separately) to switch between modes, or add a brake light switch (sold separately) to use the steady mode as a brake light.
The 16 red LEDs are not hidden behind a lens, so none of the light output is absorbed or diffused. Each LED measures 9.5mm (3/8") diameter for an FIA-specified 40 square centimeter lighting surface. Multiple circuits ensure that even if any one LED is lost, the light will still meet FIA standards. Two stainless steel studs (M6 threads) on the back of the unit make mounting easy. The back of the housing is covered with a 3mm thick foam pad to absorb vibration. The 3-conductor cable also comes out the back of the housing, so a third hole may need to be drilled in your panel.
Runs on 11.3 to 15.6 volts DC power and draws just 700mA at 12.5V. Measures 79.5mm OD x 14mm Thick (3.13" OD x 0.55" T) with a 190mm (7.5") long cable consisting of three 22 AWG wires. Maximum operating temp 105° C (221° F). Made in the UK. FIA 8874-2019 homologated (RL.010.22), meets SCCA requirements for racing use. Not DOT approved for street use.
