For those who need to stay with a traditional lead-acid battery, Braille has raised the bar both in terms of performance and in terms of environmental responsibility. Braille Advanced AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries out-perform larger and heavier batteries by combining recycled materials with fresh technology.
This 12 volt battery is a direct replacement for the YB16-B motorcycle battery and an upgrade to the PC625. Measures 6.8" Long x 4" Wide x 6.1" High with the positive terminal on the right. Note that this right-side-positive battery is a mirror image of the standard Braille B2317. This is to allow easy connection of two batteries in parallel for double the amperage (or connect two of the same type for a large 24 volt battery), while still maintaining a 6.8" x 8" footprint -- about the same size as a Group 21 or Group 26 battery!
The B2317RP weighs only 17 pounds but delivers a whopping 1191 pulse cranking amps with 23 Amp hour capacity. It is recommended for racecars up to 3.0L with alternators or carbureted racecars up to 2.0L without alternators (FF1600, F2000, F3, FA, Formula Renault, S2000, CSR/DSR/P2, F1000).
Unique convertible terminals accept 1/4" ring terminals or common SAE clamp-on terminals. The fully sealed design lets you mount it in any position, even upside-down. Braille AGM batteries are considered non-hazardous freight and can be shipped by air or ground.
