Lithium batteries offer an incredible weight savings, but your old lead-acid battery charger will ruin them. This battery charger from Optimate is designed just for use with Braille brand 12V nominal or 16V lithium-ion (LiFePO4 / LFP) batteries.
The advanced multi-step charger monitors battery condition with four separate tests before, during, and after the charging and balancing sequence. Just hook it up to your Braille lithium battery, select the charging mode, and forget it! There is never a risk of damage due to overcharging. Like all Optimate chargers, this charger starts with an automatic test of your battery condition. If all is well, the 9-step charging proceeds from Charge, to Optimize, then another Test. and finally to OptiMATE Maintenance. If you disconnect the battery, the charger will automatically shut down.
This charger can save most batteries discharged as low as 0.5 volts. If the battery is fully charged when the charger is connected, the Optimate will help to compensate for normal power drains by alarm systems, stereo memory, ECU, etc. You can even select Power Supply Mode to deliver a constant 13.6 or 17 volts for vehicle tuning or diagnostic work. The special AmpMatic feature automatically adjusts the charging amperage to suit the battery size, and Temperature Compensation automatically delivers more voltage in cold temperatures and lower voltage on hot days.
Operates on 100 - 240 VAC input voltage (50-60Hz). Maximum charging rate 9.5A (12V setting) or 7.5A (16V setting). Recommended for all Braille Green-Lite, Micro-Lite, or Intensity Series batteries (3-120 Ah capacity) and 16 Volt series (3-90 Ah capacity). This version has a 6 foot AC supply cord with a 2-prong North American (USA & Canada) plug. Draws less than 0.5W when not connected to a battery (listed by the California Energy Efficiency Commission). Includes clamp-type charging cable and weatherproof ring terminal cable, each with a quick-release 2-pin SAE plug that connects to the 6 foot charge lead on the charger. The charger body features built-in wall mounts to save valuable space on your workbench. Indoor use only.
