Brand: Tilton Engineering
This pressure plate fits all Tilton OT-II 7 1/4" Racing Clutches, including 1-, 2-, and 3- disc versions. The High ratio plate (identified by an "H" stamped on the edge of the plate) is standard on the clutches we carry.
The High ratio provides more consistent clamping force (torque capacity) as the friction discs wear than the Ultra-High ("UH") ratio. The Ultra-High starts off stronger, but drops off rapidly. Once the friction discs are worn more than 0.040", the High ratio actually has more torque capacity than the Ultra-High.
All Tilton OT-II clutches, regardless of the number of driven discs, use one pressure plate. Multi-disc clutches will also require the Tilton OT-II Floater Plate (Part No. TE 66-119, sold separately) between the driven discs.
Pressure plates should be periodically checked for warping due to heat. Maximum allowable warpage is 0.008". Pressure plates can be resurfaced to a minimum thickness of 0.525" before requiring replacement.
Note: For use with racing (metallic) clutch discs only. Not compatible with "Cerametallic" (rally) discs.
