This brand-new Weber "Nitrophyl" plastic float fits the Weber 32/36 DGV (including 5A), DGAV, DGEV, DFAV, DFEV, and 38 DGAS carburetors. The plastic type is the standard in new 32/36 DFEV carbs. Float height is critical to the proper operation of Weber progressive carburetors.
Depending on the blend of fuel being used, the plastic material can start to absorb gasoline over time. This will cause the float to sink and allow the fuel level to rise too high, resulting in the car running too rich. A new float will solve the issue. Sold individually, one required per carburetor.
How do you know if your float is saturated? A new (dry) float should weigh 11 grams or less. A saturated float may weigh upwards of 20 grams.
Weber recommends setting the height of a plastic float at 35mm from the bottom of the float to the bottom of the carb top plate, with the plate held vertically and the float hanging downwards, making light contact with the needle valve. (Racing engine builders often recommend adjusting this height to 33mm for a richer mixture in FF1600 racing.)
