The Tilton OT-II Single Disc Clutch is a very high-quality open style 7 1/4" diameter racing clutch. The aluminum cover is much lighter and stiffer than the stamped steel cover used on many other clutches. The 7 1/4" diameter gives longer disc life than a 5.5" clutch at the expense of a little rotating inertia. This assembly includes the cover and pressure plate. Clutch disc and bolts are sold separately. Requires specially modified flywheel such as our JAE Flywheel for Formula Ford 1600 (Part No. 163-01-JAE).
The Buff spring is a low-strength spring, recommended for Formula Ford and other cars producing up to 200 lb-ft of torque. We also offer the Tilton OT-2 Clutch with Orange Spring (Part No. 163-15-Orn) for cars up to 250 lb-ft of torque.
Racing clutches require high pedal force to actuate. This clutch requires 480 pounds to release -- cable operated release mechanisms may not work. This clutch is appropriate for use with an external slave cylinder.
