Countersunk Dzus quarter-turn fasteners are great for a low-profile installation, but they require a countersunk or dimpled hole to fit into. Our special dimpling tool makes it easy to make consistent dimples in sheet metal.
This two-piece kit includes a steel punch and a steel anvil with the proper profiles to dimple sheet metal panels. Simply drill the hole for the stud, insert the punch through the hole and into the pilot hole in the anvil. Strike the punch with a hammer and you're done!
Note: This tool is sized to make the correct dimple for 5/16" captive studs with a backing plate (Part Nos. 3004 through 3008), or 3/8" non-captive studs. You will need to enlarge the dimple if you are using 3/8" captive studs (Part Nos. 3022-xxx or 3023-xxx).
