Angled hose ends can be held in a vise while you twist the hose onto the barb, but the straight hose ends just twist with the hose. That's where this tool can help. A set of jaws holds the hose firmly in place, while a lever-operated mandrel pushes the fitting into the hose. Simply lube the hose and the barb, put the straight fitting on the mandrel and the hose in the jaws, and pull the handles apart.
