The HANS III continues the legendary head-and-neck restraint company's commitment to constant product improvement.
The latest FIA-approved HANS Device to feature injection-molded technology, the HANS III is lighter than both the original Sport and the lighter Sport II. The distinctive open backboard (carried over from HANS Devices used in F1 and Indy Car) removes unnecessary material to bring the weight down even closer to the more expensive carbon-fiber Pro models. The Large size HANS III weighs 1.8 pounds -- that's probably lighter than your helmet.
Don't let the low weight and low price fool you. A new polymer, together with a completely revised design and strategic reinforcements allow the HANS III to provide the same level of protection that racers have come to expect from HANS Devices over the last 20+ years. The HANS III is a fully FIA 8858-2010 and SFI 38.1 approved FHR, legal for all forms of auto racing from SCCA to F1.
Each HANS III Device includes Vision Advantage PLUS sliding tethers, black contour padding, Pro series PA helmet anchor posts for one helmet, and full instructions. The Model 30 is designed for formula cars and sports prototypes with lay-back seating.
