Alpinestars designed the Radar shoe specifically for professional pit crews. The Radar carries full FIA homologation for use in the hot pits at international races, but the sole is considerably thicker than a driving shoe to provide the support and comfort needed to get through a 24-hour race.

The leather uppers are extensively perforated for ventilation. Carbon-pattern embossing on the leather reinforcing heel and toe caps hides scuffs while also adding an extra-tough look. The lace-up closure is supplemented by a hook-and-loop ankle strap like on Alpinestars driving shoes, but the shape of the Radar has been tuned for comfort while squatting, kneeling, and running during pit stops. A full fire-retardant lining provides protection in the event of a refueling accident. Black with white Alpinestars logos and silver highlights. FIA 8856-2018 homologated.
