The Bell Helmet Top Gurney (also known as a wicker bill) is designed to combat helmet lift and buffeting at speed. It attaches near the top of the helmet to separate airflow as it comes over the helmet. This helps to eliminate the low-pressure area behind the helmet that causes aerodynamic instability. It is recommended for use in any type of open cars as well as karts.
This Gurney flap design fits any Bell helmet with a smooth shell, but it could be adapted to other brands with a little work. Clear plastic lets your custom paint show through. Adheres with double-stick tape (provided). The Large size was developed to be effective all the way down to speeds below 150mph.
Note: The Top Gurney is not designed for use with a helmet spoiler.
