Our Aluminized Heat Barrier Cloth is great for protecting fiberglass bodywork from damaging exhaust heat. The woven silica inner layer provides insulating air pockets, while the flexible, highly reflective outer layer reflects radiant heat. The outer layer is capable of withstanding conducted temperatures to 1000°F and radiant heat to 2000°F. (This cloth is not designed to be applied directly to the exhaust system.) Sold by the running foot from a roll 40 inches wide. Approximately 1/16" thick.
This cloth can be glued in place with silicone adhesive or with our High Temperature Spray-On Adhesive (Part No. 1835-020, sold separately). We also offer a Self-Adhesive Heat Barrier Cloth (Part No. 1828) with the same properties, but with adhesive already applied.
For a similar insulation that can be applied directly to the exhaust, see our High-Temperature Woven Aramid Heat Barrier Cloth (Part No. 1835-128).
