For the ultimate in fuel scavenging, install a surge tank inside your fuel cell. A surge tank is the best way to prevent fuel starvation without overfilling your fuel cell.
These rigid plastic tanks have 3 integral ball check valves trap up to 1/2 gallon of fuel inside the surge tank to keep it near the pickup. Each tank measures approximately 6 inches x 6 inches x 4 inches high and has a male AN outlet fitting to connect to your pickup hose. The empty tank weighs approximately 18 ounces, less than the weight of 1/4 of a gallon of fuel. For best results, we recommend locating the tank against the front wall of the fuel cell for road racing. Fuel will slosh into the tank under braking and will be ready for acceleration through the corner.
Note: You will need to add a Barbed Hose End (Part No. 3288-xx-090) to connect the surge tank to your fuel pickup. Depending on the configuration of your fuel cell, you may also need our Textile Reinforced Rubber Hose (Part No. 3290-xx) and a second hose end.
