AN5H Bolts -- Drilled Head
AN5H bolts have a 5/16-24 thread with a 5/16" diameter shank. The 0.531 inch thread length on all AN5H bolts is designed to fit a full-height nut plus one AN960-516 washer. The head of each AN5H bolt is predrilled for safety wire.
A or no A? AN bolts were originally designed to be used with a castle nut and cotter pin, so the base part number indicates a drilled shank. The addition of an "A" at the end (for example, AN5H-13A) indicates a drilled head with an undrilled shank for use with safety wire and a self-locking nut.
