Our Clear-View™ heat shrink tubing shrinks to less than half its original diameter when heat is applied. Use it to insulate and protect individual connections or entire wiring harnesses.
This dual-wall tubing has an adhesive lining that melts as the tubing shrinks to positively seal out moisture. It also gives the tubing a firm grip on the wire to provide a strain relief that protects against vibration damage. Clear-View heat shrink tubing remains clear, even after shrinking. Wire gauge size (12-10 Gauge) is printed on the tubing for easy size identification.
Operating temperature range after shrinking is -55° C to 125° C (-67° F to 257° F). Requires just 90° C (194° F) for shrinking. A heavy-duty hot air gun is recommended for shrinking, but a high-wattage hair dryer can also be used. Original 0.365" ID shrinks to 0.100" ID (1:2.5 shrink ratio). Meets FMVSS302 standards for flame resistance.
Tech Tip: Clear Heat-Shrink Tubing is also useful for labelling wires in a wiring harness. Just print out your series of numbers or circuit identifiers on a laser printer using a small type size. Cut them out, wrap the paper around the wire, and secure in place with the heat shrink tubing. Click here for more information about labeling and identifying circuits in wiring harnesses.
