Step drills are among the handiest items in your metalworking or bodywork toolbox. The quick hole cutting can get you out of a number of jams. These drills each have just one cutting flute. This cuts holes that may be accurate enough for tapping or precision work, but when you need a hole in a hurry, a step drill is hard to beat.
This set of 3 high speed steel drills covers hole sizes 4mm to 30mm (5/32" to 1 3/16"):
425/1 drills 4mm to 12mm holes in 1mm increments (70mm long)
425/3 drills 4mm to 20mm holes in 2mm increments (85mm long)
425/6 drills 4mm to 30mm holes in 2mm increments (75mm long)
The area between the steps is angled, so these drills can also be used as deburring tools. You can even use them as quick-and-dirty countersinks in a pinch!
