A PTFE-lined rod end can be too stiff for use on a throttle cable, causing a sticky pedal or even premature wear on the cable. These special rod ends are made slightly loose so the cable can pivot freely on the pedal or carburetor linkage.
Standard right-hand 14-28 UNF female threads fit some of our Custom-Made Throttle Cables (Part Nos. 1270-Basic2, Basic3, and Basic4). The ball is 3/8" wide, with a 0.25" bore to accept a 1/4" bolt. Flats on the body accept a 3/8" wrench. This rod end will add 0.75" to the overall length of your throttle cable when screwed all the way in.
We also offer a similar 10-32 Female Throttle Cable Rod End (Part No. 1275) for cables with 10-32 stud ends.
