The 1658DGT Series micrometers from Beta Tools are designed for the utmost precision in measuring outside dimensions. Just as on the conventional 1658 Series analog micrometers, each full rotation of the thimble moves the spindle just 0.5mm. Fifty graduations around the thimble make it possible to measure in 0.01mm increments.
But the 1658DGT Series goes a step further by adding a digital LCD readout (IP65 sealed) capable of measuring to 0.001mm! The digital readout also makes it possible to measure without math (no more counting hash marks, multiplying, and adding). Like the 1658 Series, the steel frame and hardened contacts enable high precision, and the measurement can be locked in place with a thumb lever for quick comparisons. The digital display can also be zeroed at any position so you can make accurate comparisons. Incremental and Absolute modes make comparison even easier. And the icing on the cake is that the digital display can be set to read in either milimeters or inches (0.00005" increments -- that's half a ten-thousandth of an inch).
