The 1658SP/1 stand has a base constructed of heavy (990g / 2 lb 3 oz) cast iron for stability, with a wide 115mm x 160mm (4.5" x 6.3") footprint to resist tipping. The jaws are padded to prevent scratching the frame of your micrometer. They can hold virtually any micrometer with a frame up to 18mm (0.7") thick, and the angle is adjustable to hold the micrometer anywhere from vertical to horizontal. Micrometer sold separately.
