This double-jointed stand from Beta Tools is designed to hold your dial indicator above a ferrous metal (steel or iron) work surface.
The assembly consists of a magnetic base, a fixed vertical rod, and an adjustable second rod with end clamp. The base has an on-off lever to release the magnet easily, and a V-groove in the base lets you use it on round tubing or a flat surface. The two rods are held together with a joint that lets you adjust height and angle between them. The end clamp holds any dial indicator with an 8mm OD snout (including the Beta Tools 1662 Series). A thumbscrew-operated joint near the end clamp allows for fine adjustment after the stand is in place. Sold individually, dial indicator not included.
