Installing a piston-and-rod assembly can be a tricky business. While you're busy keeping the rings compressed and sliding the piston into the cylinder, the bottom end of the connecting rod flops around unsupervised, just looking for a precision-machined surface to bump into.
ARP Rod Bolt Extensions offer an easy solution. Simply thread these long aluminum posts onto your connecting rod bolts before installing the piston in the bore. Their extended length gives you an easy handle to grab before the rod gets too close to the crankshaft, and the tapered points help to guide them past the crank pin. Aluminum construction makes them less likely to damage the crank journal if they do make contact.
This size is designed to fit rod bolts with 7/16-20 threads. Blue anodizing is color-coded for quick size identification. Sold in pairs (enough for one connecting rod).
