Forming a flare on hydraulic tubing can be hit-or-miss. Even high-quality tools can flare the tubing a little off-center or angled, and cheaper tools can actually damage the flare they're trying to form. This clever tool has a 37 degree male cone-shaped hone covered in diamond dust that removes burrs and high spots for a better seal.
The hone is mounted in a special fixture that ensures your 1/4" or 3/16" tubing is held perfectly parallel and concentric to the axis of the hone. Simply clip the fixture onto your flared tubing and give the knob a few turns while applying light pressure. That's it! The fixture is small enough to be used while on your back under the car. Collars are provided to hold both 1/4" and 3/16" OD steel tubing.
Note: Not recommended for use on soft tubing materials such as aluminum or copper.
