This high-quality 2-piston brake caliper has been engineered specifically to be a direct replacement for the obsolete AP/Lockheed CP2505 ("LD19") racing caliper. The CP2505 was used extensively on Formula Ford 1600 and FF2000/FC cars from the 1960s through the 1990s, but AP recently stopped production and remaining inventory sold out quickly.
The GEM is the result of years of development and grueling real-world testing by a leading racing school in the UK -- it is not a rebuilt, remanufactured, or generic import from parts unknown. Cast iron construction makes them legal for all racing classes, including vintage racing where alloy calipers are not allowed.
This is an absolute bolt-on replacement for the AP caliper, with the same piston size, pad shape, mounting pattern, bleed screws, and inlet port thread as the original CP2505. It uses the same pad retaining cotter pins, and the piston seals can even be used in your old AP caliper! Bright zinc plating resists corrosion. Piston size is 1.625" diameter. Sold individually. Brake pads are not included.
Each caliper has bleeder screws at the top and bottom to allow it to fit either the right or left side of the car.
