Wilwood brings their decades of expertise in designing and building lightweight aluminum racing calipers to SCCA formula car classes!
The forged aluminum 2-piston caliper is made to be a direct bolt-on replacement for the discontinued cast iron AP/Lockheed CP2505 ("LD19") caliper. The CP2505 was used extensively on Formula Ford 1600 and FF2000/FC cars from the 1960s through the 1990s, but AP recently stopped production and remaining inventory sold out quickly.
No machining or adapting is required. The "WLD19" caliper retains the same 3/8-24 inlet thread and 1 5/8" diameter pistons as the original, too -- just take off your old caliper and install the WLD19 in its place! It even takes the same LD19 pad as the original, so your spare pads won't go to waste. Symmetrical design can be used on the left side or right side of the car. SCCA legal for Formula Continental and Formula F per FCS 9.1.1.B.8.a, and Sports 2000 per SRCS 9.1.9.B.7.b. Sold individually.
What's the same as the original:
Mounting (bolt hole size, location, spacing, height, offset)
Symmetrical design (use the same caliper left or right side, leading or trailing)
Plumbing (inlet port thread, port design, port location)
Hydraulics (piston size, piston number, pad shape)
What's different:
Weight (lightweight forged aluminum vs. cast iron)
Piston material (stainless steel vs. plated steel)
Piston seals (easily available and inexpensive Wilwood seals)
Bleed screws (1/4-28 inside a special 1/8 NPT insert)
