This Lifeline Zero 360 Fire Suppression System is FIA homologated (FIA 8865-2015 homologation number EX.042.17) and SCCA legal for all cars! It is the perfect size to replace the old 5.5 pound Halon bottle found in so many British formula cars.
Zero FK (FK‑5‑1‑12, formerly marketed by 3M™ as Novec™ 1230) is the latest "green" replacement for ozone-depleting Halon as a fire suppression agent. Zero FK is non-conductive, non-corrosive, alcohol-resistant (effective on methanol fires), and ozone-friendly. It is stored as a liquid under pressure that releases as a gas, which means zero cleanup afterwards. Unlike Halon (and many of its replacements), Zero FK is non-toxic, which makes it ideal for use in confined spaces.
The small 2.25 kg DOT-approved lightweight steel bottle weighs just 8.3 pounds full and measures 5" diameter x 10 3/4" long overall (7 1/4" without the actuating handle assembly). Each FIA-approved Fire Marshal system includes a filled and pressurized mechanically-actuated bottle, bottle mounting brackets, 6 meters (19.7 ft) of 8mm (5/16") Dekabon tubing, fittings, 5 discharge nozzles (3 engine bay and 2 cockpit), a 6-foot pull cable, and a 12-foot pull cable.
Note that FIA rules require fire systems to be inspected and re-certified every 2 years. Most sanctioning bodies (including SCCA) will not accept a fire system that is past is service date.
Note: (H) = Hazardous. All pressurized fire suppression systems are considered Hazardous by UPS and other freight carriers. A hazardous shipping charge of $51.00 (ground shipping) or $73.00 (air shipping) will apply when shipped by UPS. The shipping cost estimate shown on the Review Cart page will already include this surcharge if applicable. This item cannot be sent by US Mail.
