Novec 1230 / Zero FK Fire Suppression Systems

FK‑5‑1‑12 (formerly marketed by 3M™ as Novec™ 1230) is the latest "green" replacement for ozone-depleting Halon as a fire suppression agent. It is stored as a liquid under pressure that releases as a gas, which means zero cleanup afterwards. It works by removing heat from the fire, rather than by smothering. It is non-conductive, non-corrosive, alcohol-resistant, and ozone-friendly. Unlike Halon (and many of its replacements), FK‑5‑1‑12 is essentially non-toxic, which makes it ideal for use in confined spaces.
