Are you just about ready to give up on trying to seal the stock steel side covers on your British engine? Are your fellow drivers just about ready to report you to the EPA? Gasket Innovations has the answer!
These precision gaskets are designed specifically for the original steel side covers on 1950s/60s/70s BMC engines. The high-temperature silicone construction allows the gasket to crush -- without extruding outwards -- much more than stock cork gaskets for better sealing.
Simply clean your valve cover, spread a thin bead of RTV sealant around the flange to hold the gasket in place, and install the gasket. Let the silicone cure at least 8 hours (24 hours is ideal) before installing the cover. The silicone is so soft and conformable, it needs very little pressure to seal. Screwing the fasteners down just past finger-tight is usually enough! When it's time to remove the cover, the gasket will stay with the valve cover. The gasket is reusable indefinitely, which means it could be the last side cover gasket you will ever buy! Sold in pairs (each set is enough for one engine).
Fits the original steel side covers on Austin Healey sixes (100-6 and 3000, BN4 to BJ8), BMC A-Series (Sprite/Midget/Mini), and BMC B-Series (MGA, MGB).
