This precision gasket has been designed specifically for the original steel valve cover on the 1960 and later 6-cylinder Standard-Triumph engine. The high-temperature silicone construction allows the gasket to crush -- without extruding outwards -- much more than the stock cork gasket for better sealing.
Simply clean your valve cover, spread a thin bead of RTV sealant around the flange to hold the gasket in place, and install the gasket. Let the silicone cure at least 8 hours (24 hours is ideal) before installing the cover. The silicone is so soft and conformable, it needs very little pressure to seal. Screwing the fasteners down just past finger-tight is usually enough! When it's time to adjust the valves, the gasket will stay with the valve cover. The gasket is reusable indefinitely, which means it could be the last valve cover gasket you will ever buy! Sold individually.
