Are you just about ready to give up on trying to seal the stock steel valve covers on your Porsche 356 engine? Are your fellow drivers just about ready to report you to the EPA? Gasket Innovations has the answer!
These precision gaskets have been designed specifically for the original steel rocker covers on the 4-cylinder Porsche engine. The high-temperature silicone construction allows the gasket to crush -- without extruding outwards -- much more than the stock cork gasket for better sealing.
Simply clean your valve cover, spread a thin bead of RTV sealant around the flange to hold the gasket in place, and install the gasket. Let the silicone cure at least 8 hours (24 hours is ideal) before installing the cover. The silicone is so soft and conformable, it needs very little pressure to seal. These gaskets can even help if your old hold-down bails aren't as tight as they used to be! When it's time to adjust the valves, the gasket will stay with the valve cover. The gaskets are reusable indefinitely, which means they could be the last valve cover gaskets you will ever buy! Sold in pairs (enough for one engine).
Fits the original Porsche steel valve covers on 1948-65 Porsche 356 (except 4-cam Carrera engines) as well as 1965-69 Porsche 912 flat-4 pushrod engines. Not for use with aluminum valve covers that require an O-ring or C-channel seal. Does not fit 914 or 1969 "912E" (2.0L VW Type 4) engines.
