This direct-acting throwout bearing from Tilton eliminates all lost motion due to cable stretch or linkage flex. The compact size (just 2.02" - 2.07" high) makes it small enough to be adapted to almost any transmission including Hewland, Webster, and Weismann transaxles. Most applications will require fabrication of an adapter. The unequally-spaced holes and port positions mimic the design of the popular Saab 9000 HRB used in some vintage Formula A and Super Vee applications. (Note that the original Saab HRB had 12mm ports; the Tilton version has 3/8-24 ports.)
The radius-faced bearing has a 44mm contact diameter for clutches with a 1 5/8" diameter diaphragm spring hole. This includes most QuarterMaster 4.5", 5.5", and 7.25" racing clutches (except 7.25" LGC) and Tilton OT-II (7.25") Racing Clutches.
This version is designed for an overall height of 2.07" (52.6mm), but removing a shim under the bearing will reduce the height to 2.02" (51.3mm). The original Saab assembly had an overall height of 2.05" (52mm). Maximum travel is 0.70 inches, so a clutch pedal stop must be used to prevent damage to the clutch and the engine. Tilton recommends pairing this assembly with a 3/4" bore master cylinder (sold separately).
