1/4 to 7/16-24 Long Version Inverted Flare Tube Nut, Steel

Click for a larger picture of 1/4 to 7/16-24 Long Version Inverted Flare Tube Nut, Steel

This is a standard tube nut for 1/4" brake or clutch tubing. The outside has 7/16-24 SAE threads all the way to the end, and the inside is contoured to fit a standard SAE 45 degree inverted (double) flare on common 1/4" steel brake tubing.

The tip has no unthreaded lead portion, so the port must be threaded all the way down (not for use on British ports requiring a "bubble" or convex flare). Extended nuts like this are used on high-vibration areas, where the tubing needs a little extra support. High-pressure brass. Sold individually. Tubing not included.

Note: 1/4" brake tubing is slightly less common than 3/16" tubing. The larger tubing is often used on clutches, drum brakes, very large disc brake calipers, and other situations that move an unusually large amount of fluid.
