A Residual Pressure Valve is designed to maintain a very small amount of pressure in your brake lines after you release the brake pedal.
This 2psi valve is specifically intended for use with disc brakes where the master cylinder is located lower than the calipers. Keeping 2 psi of pressure in this type of system helps to prevent fluid from draining back from the calipers into the master, which would cause a soft or long pedal. It is not needed in most applications where the calipers are lower than the master cylinder.
The Blue anodized housing has the 2 psi rating etched in the side for quick identification (the 10 psi version is Red). Female 1/8 NPT threads at each end are easy to adapt to either AN or SAE brake lines (adapters sold separately). Sold individually.
We also offer the higher-pressure Wilwood 10 psi Residual Pressure Valve for use with drum brakes (Part No. WW260-13707).
