A Residual Pressure Valve is designed to maintain a very small amount of pressure in your brake lines after you release the brake pedal.
This 10psi valve is specifically intended for use with drum brakes. Keeping 10 psi of pressure in a drum brake system helps to prevent the shoe retracting springs from pulling the shoes back too far, which would cause a long pedal. It is not for use with disc brakes.
The Red anodized housing has the 10 psi rating etched in the side for quick identification (the 2 psi version is Blue). Female 1/8 NPT threads at each end are easy to adapt to either AN or SAE brake lines (adapters sold separately). Sold individually.
We also offer the lower-pressure Wilwood 2 psi Residual Pressure Valve for use with disc brakes (Part No. WW260-13706).
