This special heat shield is designed specifically for blocking radiant exhaust heat from penetrating your oil filter and raising your oil temperature. Perfect for engines where the exhaust header runs very close to the filter!
Each shield is made of woven silica with a flexible aluminized finish. The highly reflective surface of the material is capable of withstanding radiant temperatures in excess of 2000° F. A high-heat peel-and-stick adhesive backing holds it securely to your oil filter.*
This Large kit includes 12 heat shields, each measuring 12" Long x 0.035" Thick. This size is recommended for full-size filters measuring 4" to 5" long and up to 3.8" diameter, such as the Fram HP-1/PH-8A and HP-4/PH13.
* The adhesive can withstand up to 300° F, but it is not oil resistant. Oil vapor can soak into the cloth and release it from the adhesive. We recommend sealing the edges with a small, thin smear of silicone after installation for best results.
